Planning,

This is a powerpoint which presents my sell lines and contents ideas for my magazine. This planning has helped me a lot because it has prepared me for the sort of features I should include in my magazine and how I should word these.

This powerpoint is based on my audience, this helped me figure out what i want my audience to be like and act like, also what my primary and secondary audience are.

To figure out the name of my magazine, I decided to spider diagram all my ideas and to pick the best one, this way I can come up with a great idea linking in with other names. I decided to pick out of Top Launch, HipCity and RnB Central seeing as I thought these were the most eyecatching and different.

On my survey I have included some key questions which will allow me to determine my target audience. I have included questions such as favourite genre, why they read magazines, how often they read them and whether they like information on existing or upcoming artists etc. People answering these questions will allow me to determine a target audience and see what people actually prefer. All of this information will allow my magazine to be successful as possible.

Moodboard

I have used this photos for my moodboard to express what Rnb is associated with, for example flash cars, tattoos, alcohol, jewellery, heavy makeup, money and nudity. This is what I plan on having in my magazine.

Proposal
For my music magazine I am planning on focusing it on the genre or Rnb. I have chosen this genre because I think it’s very popular in today’s generation seeing as there have been a lot of new Rnb albums released for example Justin Timberlake, Kelly Rowland, Angel, Miguel, Robin Thicke, J.Cole, and The Weeknd. It also was popular in older generations of artists such as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Charlie Wilson, Maxwell and Beyonce. This is why I would like to do an Rnb magazine seeing as it is well respected and has so many different artists and perspectives that I would like to include into my magazine. Also RnB is mixed with other genres such as Soul, Urban and Hip-hop, so I think I could involve these into my magazine.
My magazine will be issues once a month seeing as I can include everything in the magazine that happened in that month, therefore my readers will be satisfied with all the latest gossip and will not need to know until the next month, also magazines can be expensive so to keep the customers and to keep them happy, once a month is saving money for them, meaning they more likely to be able to buy the magazine. Seeing as my magazine will be very detailed and packed, this will mean the price will be £2.99. Also because my primary age is teenagers and young adults, there will be competitions, reviews and also freebies in the magazine to keep them intrigued.
My magazine will hopefully be advertised on all social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and Instagram. Also places such as radio and posters around local places.
Possible stories that I will include into my magazine could be new upcoming artists and information on them, well known artists who have recently have a new song/album or won awards, recent or upcoming concerts and reviews on past ones, competitions and articles on older artists that are coming back into the music generation.
The representation of Rnb will be in my magazine by having my models wearing similar clothes, for example my female model will be wearing very limited clothes like a crop top, or shorts. While my male models will be in suits. Also they will be portrayed as individuals, not as a band seeing as most Rnb artists are all singers. Also all of my models have come from a Carribean culture so they will be black, which is what most Rnb singers are.
The publishing house that I have decided to use will be similar to company that have published Vibe magazine seeing as they are a very popular Rnb/Hip-hop magazine. The publishing house is called Spin media, I have picked this because it is very successful and has a very good layout.
