Week 12
I decided to do an article draft that will be on my double page spread.
Week 11
I began starting off my Promotional Methods, i picked what methods i want to use to advertise my magazine and get it known and recognised. I used social sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, radio and advertising on billboards, posters and leaflets. I believe this will promote my magazine in a good light and give it potential customers and popularity.
Week 10
This week i researched Colour Connotations, i picked a wide range of colours and annated them and found out what they repesent and what people think of them, for example red can mean love, danger etc. This helped me decide my colour scheme for my magazine, i decided to pick Black, White and Purple because black creates an impression of smart, sophistication which suits Rnb perfectly as most Rnb male artists wear black suits. While the colour white gives a sense of innocense, this is why i am only using a little bit of white for example for text because Rnb artists don't show any resemblance to innocense. I am using purple because it highlights wealth, luxury and power. While also giving it a sense of mystery.
Week 9
I planned my props and costumes for my artist in my magazine, i decided to go for Rnb stereotypes such as tattoos and piercings, big hair, makeup and jewellery and also showing some sort of cleavage/nudity. This way it will attract potential customers and fit in with my target audience that love Rnb.
Week 8
After coming up with name ideas and existing names and mastheads, i thought it would be time to start planning sell lines and content ideas for my magazine. This helped me to be prepared for what sort of headlines i would like in my magazine such as "No one can stop me", The Queen of Rnb is here, Have your say and content ideas such as The return of Charlie Wilson, WIN COMPETITION, Touring with Miguel etc.
Week 7
In class, we had to discuss Name Ideas, so i started with a spider diagram saying 'Rnb Magazine Ideas' then came up with names that could possibly be the name of my magazine. I came up with names such as HipCity, TopLaunch, Rhythm Drop, and Young Blues. However in the end i decided to go with RnB Central as its straight to the point and catchy.
Week 6
This week i started researching Existing names and mastheads, this helped me realise what different names mean and what they represent, which helped me for when i came to name my magazine the following week. It gave me ideas for what names i would like my magazine to be. Also made me realise what sort of name to come up with and what it can symbolise for Rnb for example i found out that rock magazine Kerrang sonds like a guitar which goes with the genre.
Week 5
This week i began to write about my Key Concepts, i included code and conventions, audience, institution and representation. For example in code and conventions i wrote about the typical items you'd see in a magazine like masthead, bar codes and sell lines. I also wrote about why people read magazines, what the strengths and weaknesses are and also what we expect from magazines in this generation. This made me realise what things i need to include into my magazine and how i need to have it for it to reach my audiences expectations

Week 4
i started on my moodboard, including all photos i could get that i would want my magazine to associate with, and also the main stereotypes of Rnb. For example i used photos of flash cars, tattoos, alcohol, jewellery, heavy makeup, money and nudity. This is what I plan on having in my magazine.

Week 3
i started planning my proposal, i included what my genre was, what i would like my audience to be and how old etc. and also discussed what my magazine represented. I explained why i chose my magazine and genre and my audience. This gave me a perception on what my magazine could look like and how i want it.
When i finished my proposal, i began discussing my Audience, i added my target audience(primary and secondary) for example age bracket, gender, i also discussed my magazine more and the research i did on Rnb e.g. the older and more modern artists, and the typical stereotypes. This helped me make a typical reader profile that i also included. It helped me when making my Moodboard that i did next, seeing as its what i would like to include into my magazine and also the main stereotypes of Rnb

Week 2
In week 2, I planned out what genre of magazine I was going to do, I picked Rnb because it is my favourite genre and i wanted to go for a challenge instead of going for what most people would go for e.g. pop.
After this i did research on different magazines on front covers, content pages, and double page spreads to give me ideas on what i would like my magazine to look like/wouldnt look like. So i picked three front covers and then annotated them and all the features for example bar code, masthead, colour scheme etc. then did this for content pages and double page spreads. After i finished i realised that this did help me and give me ideas for my magazine for example, to have pictures on my content page rather than all text to make the readers more interested.

Week 1
This week, I began to create all of the relevant information and work for my Preliminary Task. For the preliminary task, we must create a magazine for our school, Haydon. I started planning my magazine by going round school taking photos of relevant things to put onto the magazine, I then sketched out my front cover and contents page to give me an idea what it was going to look like.
After doing this, I started designing my school magazine using Adobe Indesign CS6 calling it Haydon Now! When I finished, I started my pleliminary task, explaining and evaluating my school magazine and how I did it.
